Dear Parents
Because our world is broken, we’ve all experienced illness or physical challenge—either ourselves or among loved ones. As a result, many people ask Jesus for miracles of healing.
This week we discuss Jairus, a father in the Bible who asked Jesus to heal his daughter. Although Jairus presumed the girl was dead, he declared his faith and asked for a miracle. As Jesus went with Jairus to where the girl was, a woman interrupted the journey by seeking healing for herself. Jesus turned and spent time with her, validating her faith and restoring her health.

Connection Points
Note what’s consistent with every request for healing: Jesus always met with someone personally, helping them find deeper healing through his love and attention. Help your teenager dig into this topic through questions such as:
• When was the last time you asked Jesus to heal you or another person physically? What ultimately happened?
• How can someone find “healing” even if he or she isn’t made well physically?
• God made our bodies with the ability to heal themselves sometimes. How might what we consider “natural” healing really be “supernatural” healing?
• What’s one thing in your life or a friend’s life we can ask Jesus to heal?
Have a great time exploring these topics. Thanks for your prayers and support!

Announcements
Refocus - January 14th's Refocus will center around connection through games. Bring your favorite board game or two as we spend time playing, laughing, and enjoying each other's presence. 6:30-8pm. Dinner will be Pasta
Vespers - January 9 from 6 - 8:30pm we will be hosting a Movie Night Vespers where we will be serving breakfast food and providing a restful worship. Students are encouraged to wear their PJ's, bring baskets, pillow and come ready to be cozy. Jesus said "come away and rest a while", and we want to help provide something like that for our students. The movie we are watching was student picked and will be Evan Almighty. We recognize this isn't the most traditionally worshipful choice that could be made, but the heart of the movie is about God wanting to have a personal relationship with us that can start with just the smallest prayer. Pastor Tori will be giving a worship thought based off the movie and students will have a chance to process through small group discussions.
Bible Study Small Group - No Bible study this week due to Vepsers.
Almost every Friday night Mic and Tori host a small group Bible study in their home from 7:15-9:00pm. This is a time for your teen to be able to ask questions about life, eternity, God, or really anything. We open up the Bible and dive in discovering what it means for us and our faith journey. This is one of the best things we do.
