Worship This Sabbath
Speaking this week is Simon Liversidge, our Lead Pastor, reminding us "How to be an Encourager." In Acts 4, the early church lives as a beautiful comunity sharing life & possessions. One of the leaders is Barnabas. He encourages the church in three powerful ways: 1) To have a heart for the NEEDY (a spirit of generosity). 2) To have a heart for the YOUNG (a spirit of growth). 3) To have a heart for our FAMILY (a spirit of grace).
Church family: "The path of sincerity and integrity is not a path free from obstruction, but in every difficulty we are to see a call to prayer." (Desire of Ages, 667) Send your prayer requests and praises to Dina Horst at 402.420.5970. Thank you!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sabbath School Class Clean Out: Are the drawers in your classroom rather stuffed? Do you cover your head in case something falls out on you when you open a top cabinet? Carrie Gaul is coordinating a lower-level classroom cleanout over the summer. Each room will organize themselves and decide their own goals for clearing out and cleaning up. This is an opportunity to work collectively and have the most useful outcome for all our leftovers.
Here are the key pieces of information: -Work at your own pace, but must finish by tomorrow, Sunday, July 28. -Throw things away, or recycle, reuse, and repurpose -Anything you no longer want can be moved to the old choir room -Oldies can still be goodies, lost can be found, and mixed up can be sorted out (except glitter!) -Give and Take. If you want it for your room, go ahead and take it from the cast offs.
Posters are available to note down supplies wanted and items that are missing. For example: If you have any lesson materials in Spanish, I would love to send them to Cuba with the felts I'm collecting. Do you need wiggly, jiggly bugs or a real bird nest? Is Volume 6 missing, or do you have the book but not the tape? Did you find a tape but don't have the book?
There will be tables for the cast-offs and organization like Room Decor, Craft Supplies, Lesson Materials, Random Objects.
Depending on what is left over after we've taken what we want for our rooms, the busy boxes or elsewhere in the church, an announcement will go out in the eWeekend opening it up for homeschoolers and other teachers or mission trip coordinators. I'll then see what Better Ways would like and take care of the remaining clean up before school starts.
Summer of Prayer: We are continuing to pray daily over the next few months for our local Adventist community. Send a prayer heavenward each day at 7am and 7pm, especially for Union Adventist University and College View Academy. We are beseeching God to move His mighty hand and fill our campuses with His goodness.
Women of CVC! Join us at our Women's Bible Study every Wednesday from 12-1:30pm in Heartland Hall B. You are welcome to bring a lunch. Contact Sheryl at 402.770.3392 with any questions.
