On-Site Worship Services Have Resumed,

with some temporary modifications in order to keep one another healthy. Please read below to find out about those modifications.

  • Two services at 9:15am & Noon
  • Face coverings and social distancing
  • Sick people are asked to stay home

Saturdays at 9:15am and 12:00pm we welcome you to worship with us in-person. We will meet in the sanctuary with a distance of at least six feet between each household. (One advantage of our large sanctuary is that we easily hold 70+ households while occupying only every other pew!)

In the spirit of loving concern for our church family, please wear a face covering. This is one of the best measures we can take to prevent unintentionally spreading the virus to others. The local health authorities have also announced a new mandate that indoor venues open to the public must require masks of people aged 5 and older. This applies to us.

Doors are propped open wherever possible, and instead of hugs and handshakes, we'll share words of greeting and waves with one another. No one will be taking temperatures at the door.

Drinking fountains and kitchens are closed, but the bathroom facilities are open, and of course they are cleaned before the start of the service. The offering plate will not be passed, but you can still give online any day of the week.

The sanctuary service has many familiar elements, including beautiful organ music, prayer together, preaching, and more. For now congregational singing will not be a part of our services since that has been identified as a highly infectious activity.

We are continuing our online services (9:15 am) at Facebook and Livestream.com, as well as our Family Worship Live (10:30 am). Our Zoom Sabbath Schools continue to meet at 10:30am to accommodate those who wish to attend on-site worship. Our Sabbath School meetings are excellent, and if you're not yet connected to one, the pastor on call (402-665-1309) will be happy to explain how to get involved.

You will have to decide for yourself and your family if now is the right time for you to return to on-site worship. Attendance is not a religious obligation. We miss you and we look forward to when you are able and comfortable to return to in-person gatherings. Please keep in touch.

If you are sick or have any symptoms of illness, we ask that you please stay home, for the sake of all who come to gather here. Relevant symptoms include: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, congestion or runny nose, sore throat, nausea, and vomiting. (Click here for more.)

We are a church family and it is hard to be apart from each other. We have all felt that pain over the last four months, and we are eager to get back together. In the meantime we enjoy the Zoom meetings, phone calls, Family Nights, vespers, and so forth. Despite everything we truly have every reason for rejoicing: Our God reigns.

In His service,

Your College View Church Board
