Church Life News

Established in 1898 at the urging of Ellen White, the Women's Ministries Offering funds evangelistic outreach events, leadership training, and special projects for women across North America who partner with God in service through ministries that impact girls, teens, young adults, and women. Your gift placed in a tithe envelope and marked "Women's Ministries" makes a big difference in the lives of the women and girls whom you care about. Thank you for your generosity!

Please join us at Woodland Acres this Sabbath, June 12, for our first summer vespers. We will have a potluck picnic supper at 5:30pm before hearing an inspiring message from Pastor Kessia Reyne at 7pm. Please bring food to share; plates, cups, napkins, utensils and drinks will be provided. We are looking forward to seeing you out here!

Children’s Sabbath School Ministries: Our church has been so blessed with dedicated leaders who have been serving our kids and families in Sabbath School for many years!  We have several leaders looking to retire and/or move on to another age group to serve, therefore CVC is looking for some NEW dedicated adults to assist in a variety of Sabbath school age groups. If you are someone who has a gift in leadership, organization, teaching, music, or crafting we would love to talk with you about joining one of our children’s class teams! If you have a passion or interest in the children’s ministries at CVC, please contact Tori Henton at (417) 766-3544 for more information on exciting opportunities we have!

Prayer Meeting:  A reminder that Hour of Power, our weekly prayer meeting takes place each Wednesday evening, 7-8pm. For the past few months, Dr Sylvester Case has been leading a study of Romans. This study has been a great blessing. Time is also taken out to pray and thank God not only for his blessings; but to also to make individual requests for God’s healing powers. The “JOIN A MEETING” on “ZOOM” number is 96732162307.  No password is required. Here is the link.

Women’s Bible Study is on break until July 7, at which time they will begin Beth Moore's study "Breath." Ladies, plan to join us for this casual, encouraging get-together Wednesdays in the Heartland Hall, 12:00-1:30. You are welcome to bring your own lunch.

Prayer Focus: Church family, as we come to close of the beatitudes I would like to continue on with verse 11 of Matthew 5. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.” Great is the reward in heaven of those who are witnesses for Christ through persecution and reproach. While the people are looking for earthly good, Jesus points them to a heavenly reward. But He does not place it all in the future life; it begins here. “I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” (Gen. 15:1) May our prayer be to be filled with all the fullness of God, that we may have the joy that Paul and Silas had when in prison. Christ was beside them there, and the light of His presence irradiated the gloom with the glory of the courts above. {MB 34,35.1} He will do the same for us, church family❣️ Dina Horst

Food Labels for Church: Beginner 1 Sabbath School collects canned food labels from the brands of Worthington, Loma Linda and Caroline. All UPC codes from these can products begin with 45561. Only the can labels can be collected (not the frozen packaging labels).  We use these labels in our SS program and then turn them in to the food companies, who then pay the church $0.25 per label.  We would be GRATEFUL for your participation! Just remove the entire label from your canned foods, place them in a bag and leave them by the Beginner 1 Sabbath School door or at the church office.  Thank you!

Lead Pastor Search Update: The team continues to meet and prayerfully consider candidates for our next lead pastor. The group's next meeting is this Wednesday. Let's continue to pray for God's guidance of our church!
